Ameriglow, led by Jacob Darden with drummer Zack Koontz, formed in the piedmont region of North Carolina. The band’s sound represents the musical landscape from which they came. The sonic definition lies somewhere between greased-up fuzzy garage rock, steeped in Appalachian folk, cut with saccharine vocals laying out truths of southern gothic trials and familiar American tribulations.
Darden has been writing, recording and leading bands (Israel Darling, Echo Courts) for many years, but Ameriglow has always been the ultimate repository of his most heartfelt creative output. Despite its singer-songwriter origins, Ameriglow is equally a band that gives an expansively transcendent quality to the songs—from tremors to seismic upheavals.
